Day 4 Urban Pre-school visit

Today we travelled across Jo'burg to visit an urban Pre-school housed on the 4th floor of an old hospital building. Here they have much more room than the township slum one we saw yesterday. The children come from overcrowded dilapidated high rise flats in the town centre. It was easier to communicate with these children as they spoke more English. We joined in their play, making sandcastles and some singing and dancing games in the outside play area. The children were all very lively and happy and pleased to see us.Then we looked around inside before the children came in for their lunch of pilchards and rice. After lunch they all had a sleep and we went off for a very nice lunch in a local restaurant. We were then given a quick tour of some of the outskirts of Jo'burg town centre. Following that we returned home to cool off in the pool (again) and a walk to the park. One slight problem today, we have had no water since 3am this morning and no idea when it will be coming back on. Makes you appreciate the water in our taps! At least we could flush the loo with buckets of water out of the swimming pool!
