First of all we stopped at Sabie church which had its centenary this year. It was a sweet little church with a lynch gate.
We then went on to Lone Creek Waterfall. We climbed up to get a good view, which was quite spectacular and we were able to get very close and feel the spray.
We drove through more beautiful mountain scenery to get to some more waterfalls called Mac Mac falls. These were in a fantastic gorge and we were able to look down on them and into the gorge without having to climb. We were reminded of the words "When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur" from the hymn How Great Thou Art. Certainly our God is a great Creator.
We drove through forests of pine trees and eucalyptus trees which are not indigenous to South Africa but have been planted for their quick growth. It is a major industry there and we saw lots of logging, factories for log cutting and sawdust, lorries carrying huge tree trunks and even controlled fires to burn off the tree trunks.
We stopped quite late for lunch and treated ourselves to pancakes!!
We also stopped at a few touristy craft stalls and were able to get a few gifts.
