Day 30. Last Day Today

We have spent our last day doing last minute shopping and various other things. After a misty start to the day (just getting us ready for the UK) we took a drive out to Mpumalanga Airport (the only International airport I know with a thatched roof!) through a macadamia nut farm and then had coffee watching the planes coming and going before a bit of shopping in the curio shop. I (Maggie) have been looking for a Warthog ornament all holiday but haven't found one, then on the way back to White River, there on the side of the road was a stall selling warthogs of all sizes!! Just about be able to squeeze them into our cases!
So, for our last meal here what do you think we had? Chinese take-away!! Very nice indeed.
This really is the end, cases packed, seats booked and all ready to go (nearly). See you all soon.
There will still be one more blog when we're home!!

Day 29 Nearly Time to Pack Our Bags!!

Up early for church this morning after heavy rain last night. Temperature has dropped considerably today. After cupcakes with coffee after church we went home to pack our cases and weigh them to see if we had too much to bring home! Then soup (shows its cold today) for lunch. Think the weather has changed to prepare us for coming back to the cold UK. This evening, following a chance encounter with 2 women on the top of Kaapsehoop yesterday, we ended up going to a Community Orchestra Christmas concert at Casterbridge, the local arts centre. It was a lovely unexpected evening and a nice way to end our time in South Africa. One more day left and then we begin the long journey home. We will be catching the 2.00pm bus from here and will arrive at Heathrow 24hours later (if all goes well). This will be our last blog from South Africa but watch out for one more when we are home!!
